How to get there
Sierra de Atapuerca is in Burgos Province (Spain), between the Ibeas de Juarros and Atapuerca municipalities. This low undulation surrounded by three rivers, the Arlanzón, the Vena and the Pico, is part of the last foothills of the Iberian Range.
There are two routes to Sierra de Atapuerca. Leaving Burgos, follow the Logroño highway (N-120) until Ibeas de Juarros, where you will find the «Emiliano Aguirre» Archaeological Workshop, the starting point for guided tours of the Sierra de Atapuerca sites, organised by UTE SCHOLA – PALEORAMA.
Coming from the north along the A-1 highway, turn off to Olmos de Atapuerca and continue on to Atapuerca. Once in the town, go to the visitor reception centre in Atapuerca township, which is also the starting points for UTE SCHOLA – PALEORAMA's guided tours. A permanent exhibition, “Atapuerca a million years”, is in this town.
