Sima de los Huesos

This site has yielded the largest number of human fossil remains from 500,000 years ago. Evidence suggests it was the site of the oldest known human funerary practice.

El Portalón de Cueva Mayor

This cave was occupied from the Neolithic onwards by sedentary groups with an agriculture and livestock-based economy.

Galería de las Estatuas

Located about 350 metres from the current entrance to Cueva Mayor. This site contains records of Neanderthal occupations.

Galería del Sílex

A Bronze Age sanctuary with over 400 cave wall engravings and paintings from 4,000 years ago.
